It is the customers responsibility to provide an accurate delivery address. If the courier is unable to deliver your order due to issues with access to the delivery address, your goods will be returned to the local delivery depot for delivery on the next working day. Please note a redelivery charge of up to £89 plus VAT per pallet may be applied. If your order is undelivered and returned to us a restocking fee may also be applied.

If your order is over 150kg it may be delivered on a pallet. The courier will notify you of a two hour delivery window. In the event that no one is available at the address to receive the delivery a charge of up to £89 plus VAT per pallet may be applied for redelivery.

Dowsil Firestop 400 is a one-part, fire-rated intumescent acrylic sealant designed for internal perimeter pointing around fire-rated door and window frames, and for sealing joints where fire-rated partitions meet. It helps maintain the integrity of fire walls and prevents the spread of fire and smoke.
What fire rating can Dowsil Firestop 400 achieve?
When correctly applied and tested according to BS 476 Part 22:1987, Dowsil Firestop 400 can achieve up to 2 hours of fire resistance in specific joint configurations. It also meets Class 2 surface spread of flame requirements under BS 476 Part 7:1987.
Can Dowsil Firestop 400 be used externally or as a penetration seal?
No. Dowsil Firestop 400 is intended for internal use only. It is not recommended for external applications and has not been tested for use as a penetration seal.
What are the typical physical properties of the sealant?
Form: Non-slumping paste
Tack-free time: 30–45 minutes

Water resistance: Good (when fully cured)

How should Dowsil Firestop 400 be stored and applied?
Store between +5°C and +23°C in original unopened containers. Shelf life is 12 months from production.
Before application, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Apply at temperatures above +5°C, and tool the joint within 5 minutes for best adhesion and finish.
