Full application guide

Before you begin

Choose a dry, mild day with temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Everbuild Liquid Roof performs best on clean, dry surfaces, so take your time to prepare properly before opening the tin.

Inspect the roof for cracks, gaps, or seams where moisture could enter. Areas that experience movement, such as joints, corners, or around vents, can be reinforced with Sikalastic Fleece 120. Lay the fleece into a wet layer of coating, press it in firmly, and brush another layer over the top to secure it.

Preparing the roof

Start by sweeping away any dirt, moss, or loose debris using a stiff brush or broom. For heavy build-up, use a pressure washer. Once clean, allow the surface to dry completely. This step is key for good adhesion and a long-lasting finish.

Avoid applying the coating during damp or windy conditions. A calm, dry day will help the product level evenly and cure properly.

Applying liquid roofing

Give the product a thorough stir so that it’s completely mixed. Pour a small amount into a paint tray and use a roller for the main surface area, switching to a brush for details, corners, or upstands.

Apply in smooth, even strokes at roughly 1 litre per square metre, avoiding puddles or excess build-up. The coating will naturally self-level as it cures, so there’s no need to overwork it.

For very porous or weathered roofs, a second coat may help. Wait 6–12 hours before applying another layer, ensuring the first coat is touch-dry.

Curing and clean up

Allow the coating to dry fully before exposing it to rain or foot traffic – typically 24 to 48 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.

You’ll know it’s cured when the surface is firm, smooth, and dry to the touch with a uniform finish. If it still feels slightly tacky, give it more time.

Before the coating hardens, clean your rollers, brushes, and trays using Sika Wonder Wipes. They’re ideal for removing uncured product and keeping tools ready for next use.

What to expect

Once cured, Everbuild Liquid Roof forms a tough, flexible membrane that instantly repels water. It’s resistant to UV rays, standing water, and temperature changes, making it suitable for a wide range of surfaces including felt, bitumen, GRP, concrete, asphalt, and metal.

The final finish looks clean, uniform, and professional, giving long-term waterproof protection without the need for specialist installation.
